AEOLIS. Cyme. Julia Domna, Augusta, 193-217. Tetrassarion (Orichalcum, 28 mm, 13.24 g, 7 h). IOY ΔOMNA CЄBACTH Draped bust of Julia Domna to right. Rev. KYMAIΩN Amazon advancing left, holding short spear in her right hand and with a serpent coiled around her left arm; at her feet to left, small figure of a subdued Atlantian. BMC -. Repatinated, otherwise, very fine.

The small figure on the reverse of this fascinating issue is most likely an Atlantian, as Diodor reports that the Amazons under her queen Myrina attached the Atlantians on the islands of Kerne while using the skins of serpents as body armor in battle (Diod. 3.54.1-6)
